Primary Care Services

What is primary care?

Primary care is a branch of medicine that diagnoses and treats most acute and chronic health problems. In addition, it provides preventive care like immunizations, screenings, and educational guidance on nutrition and exercise.

By regularly participating in primary care, it's possible to detect and treat potentially serious issues like diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. That means you can live a longer, healthier life while remaining physically active.

How often should I participate in primary care?

Our team recommends participating in a primary care visit at least once a year. Many potentially serious health problems don't always present symptoms. Regular visits with your primary care provider can alert you early on when they respond best to treatment.

Primary Care FAQs

Are you accepting new primary care patients?
Yes — our primary care providers in Bridgeport and Fairfield, CT are accepting new patients. Call (203) 334-2100 to schedule a first visit.
What's included in an annual physical?
Your annual physical typically includes a review of your medical and family history, vital signs, a head-to-toe exam, age- and risk-appropriate screening labs, immunization review, and a discussion of preventive care goals. Your provider may also recommend additional screenings such as colon cancer screening, mammography, or bone density testing depending on age and risk factors.
Do you offer same-day appointments for sick visits?
We make every effort to accommodate same-day or next-day appointments for acute concerns. Call our office in the morning to check availability.
Do you offer Spanish-speaking providers?
Yes. Several members of our team are bilingual and can see patients in Spanish. Let our front desk know when you call and we'll match you with the right provider.
Can my primary care provider also manage my heart-related risk factors?
Absolutely. Because we're an integrated cardiology and primary care practice, your PCP and cardiologist share records and coordinate care directly — which is especially helpful for managing blood pressure, cholesterol, diabetes, and other cardiovascular risk factors.
